Earn NCDA Pesticide Recertification Credits Online

The Billeisen Turfgrass Entomology Lab offers a series of 30-minute educational videos on key turfgrass insect pests, covering their biology, ecology, and management strategies. Each video provides research-based information to help users identify and effectively manage insect issues in turfgrass systems. Participants can earn 0.5 pesticide recertification credit for each completed video by correctly answering 7 out of 10 embedded quiz questions during the presentation.

How it Works:

Watch the 30-minute presentation

Each course contains a 30-minute self-paced video presentation with 10 quiz questions embedded in the video.

Answer at least 7 of 10 quiz questions correctly

To receive a passing grade, you must complete the video with a score of 70%. You are allowed three attempts.

Receive 0.5 pesticide recertification credit

Active courses will be monitored weekly for completion, and scores will be sent to the NCDA for credit. Please allow up to three weeks for processing.

How many credits can I earn?

Each course is worth 0.5 pesticide recertification credits. You can take as many courses as are available, but only once each recertification cycle. Currently, we offer two courses that total 1 pesticide recertification credit.

How do I receive my credits?

Once you have completed the module, we will send your results to the NCDA to be registered. This may take some time, so please allow up to three weeks for this to be reflected. Additionally, you will receive an emailed certificate to indicate that you have completed the course.

Do I have to finish the course in one sitting?

No, you do not have to finish the course in one sitting. You may pause and resume the video as needed, and it will save your progress. Please note, that the window for accessing the course is only two weeks and after that period you will no longer have access to the course. Unfinished courses will not be counted towards pesticide recertification credit.

Who should take these courses?

Any individual who is already a certified pesticide applicator with the State of North Carolina can benefit from taking these courses. These courses allow certified applicators to earn credit toward their recertification on a schedule that works for them.
