Night-collecting

Many insects are active on the turfgrass surface at night. Go out after sunset with a powerful flashlight or headlamp and scan the collars, greens and fairways.

The following insects can be monitored at night:

• Annual bluegrass weevils (adults)
• Armyworms (larvae)
• Billbugs (adults)
• Cutworms (larvae)
• Masked chafers (adults)
• May/June beetles (adults)
• Sugarcane beetles (adults)
